Art in MAIN TOWER
If you would like to experience contemporary art in a particular context, you will find unusual works of art in the MAIN TOWER.
A work of art is neither an object for mere decoration nor simply a capital investment – it lives far more from its confrontation with the viewer.
The Helaba Collection
The art collection of Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen (Helaba) has concentrated since 1996 on the works of contemporary artists. The special relationship of Helaba to contemporary art is manifested in the numerous works it has commissioned in recent years for the MAIN TOWER. Many of them relate directly to their architectural context. Among these, for example, are the video installation “The World of Appearances” created by the American artist Bill Viola and the wall mosaic “Frankfurter Treppe” (Frankfurt Steps) of Stephan Huber. Both works are on display in the foyer of the MAIN TOWER, which is open to the public, and can be seen from Monday to Friday between 8 and 20 hours.
