With its innovative design, the MAIN TOWER is a technical masterpiece. Its fully-glazed outer façade placed the highest demands on the statics of the building. While the outer walls of many high-rise buildings are load-bearing, the vertical load of the MAIN TOWER is absorbed by the core structure and the external supports.
Structure and fasade
The MAIN TOWER is the first high-rise in Europe with a fully-glazed fasade, which gives the building a lighter and more transparent feel than conventional skyscrapers and ideally suits its character as a publicly-accessible building. Similarly, the sophisticated fasade engineering supplies an optimum amount of light and fresh air to the offices: 2,550 windows that can be opened ensure ideal lighting conditions and make a full air-conditioning system unnecessary.
