Even in miniature format, the MAIN TOWER impressed experts: in an international competition in 1991, the jury decided in favor of the model designed by Hamburg-based architects Schweger and Partners..
With a clear language reduced to the basic forms of the circle and square, from the outset the MAIN TOWER had an unmistakable appearance of its own. Yet, with its balanced proportions it blends harmoniously into the cityscape and the ensemble of the skyline. This is due in part to the deliberate gradation between the filigreed 200 m round tower, the 170 m square tower and the base, which in turn uses the height of the original building from the beginning of the 20th century and thus creates a close connection to the adjacent skyscrapers. By the way, the architecture of the MAIN TOWER won the IMMOBILIEN AWARD 2001 at the CIMMIT congress.
If you are interested in additional details on the technology and architecture, we recommend the book "MAIN TOWER" (Wasmuth Verlag 2000; German only).
